This is the homepage for the Simple Project Timer application which is built to run on Apple's iOS operating system. Here you will find some general information about the app, screenshots, and developer contact information.
The app was created to track daily time spent working on projects. When we looked for an app to use to track our company time we didn't find exactly what we were looking for, so we decided to build a new app as our inaugural project!
Our goals were mainly to have a simple app that included a timer (like punch clock) to gauge time spent working. The current design evolved from that point (out of real-world prototype use), such as the "quick adjustment" buttons at the bottom of each project card. They are useful for adjusting the day's hours for those unexpected events that don't count as project time. Or for those that do. Another example is the project cards themselves that automatically collect time for "today", each day. All together you primarily just need to start and stop the timer when you work and your time is accumulated and recorded. But of course, not all projects are the same and not everyone can remember to start/stop the timer perfectly. So there are other entry options as well.
The latest version includes two ways to export your time and notes data to a Comma-separated Values (CSV) file. This allows you to share or analyze your data, if needed. There is in-app help to walk you through the process.
But rather than explain every design decision, why not try it out for yourself? The app is free to download and use, and includes detailed help. While the free version is fully functional, it is limited to two simultaneous projects. This limit can be removed with an in-app purchase. And for the more business oriented projects (or just because you want it), there is a in-app purchase that adds two "week" views making the app similar to a business timesheet.
Enjoy! And let us know what you think!
With the app you create one or more projects. The project card captures input for the current day. You can also edit records via the monthly display.
With the Week Displays in-app purchase, you get a weekly view of your daily records. Also shown here are the index rack, timer, and half-sheet editor.
A weekly view and tally of all projects, showing up to four at a time in the scrolling central area. This read-only view displays in landscape only.
With the Unlimited Projects in-app purchase, the two project limit is removed. But, you can always delete projects if two at-a-time is all you need!
Application settings, such as project card layout, timer rounding, and units. Also shown is the in-app help topics, and related documentation.
